Boys and Girls Brigades
Brigades are an international organisation all about welcoming children from any walk of life into a safe, friendly and fun environment, where they can gain new skills, make friends and explore the Christian faith.
Addlestone Boys' and Girls' Brigades have been running since 1930 at our church. Over the years we have seen hundreds, if not thousands, of children and young people through our doors. From learning simple cooking to making model planes and from group games to group outings - the activities have varied and changed over time but one thing has remained a constant - Brigades have always tried to bring out the best in every boy and girl.
Boys' Brigade
Boys' Brigade is open to boys from any background from ages Rising 5's to 18.
As the boys continue to attend weekly and learn and develop new skills, interests and knowledge, they work towards gaining 'badges' which are a great way to show their achievements.
The age groups are split into Anchor Boys (age Rising 5's to 8), Junior Section (age 8-11), Company Section (age 11-15) and Senior Section (age 15-18).
We currently run Anchor Boys and Junior Section on Friday evenings – 6:00pm to 7:15pm. Activities include things such as devotions, games, songs, stories, craft and much more.
At the moment we do not run a Company or Senior section however this could change in the future.
Girls' Brigade
Girls' Brigade is open to girls from any background from ages Rising 5's to 18.
As the girls continue to attend weekly and learn and develop new skills, interests and knowledge, they work towards gaining 'badges' which are a great way to show their achievements.
The age groups are split into Explorers (age Rising 5's - 8), Juniors (age 8-11), Seniors (age 11-14) and Brigaders (age 14-18).
